Tight security in Ife as Ooni-elect continues installation rites

There was heavy security at Iremo quarters in Ile Ife on Thursday as the new Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, entred into Ilofi to continue with installation rites.
Sources close to the new monarch told our correspondent that Ogunwusi left his residence at around 4:10am to begin the most critical aspect of his journey into becoming the 51st Ooni of Ife.
One of the sources said that the new monarch would enter Ilofi which is located at Iremo Quarters of Ile Ife at dusk.
The source said, ” The new Ooni would enter Ilofi  later today ( Thursday). That will be around 7pm or thereabout.
“I think he would not spend more than 21 days at Ilofi after which he would be crowned as the Ooni of Ile Ife.  Ilofi period used to last for three months in those days but I don’t think he would spend more than 21 days now.
“He  would be left alone there but those concerned with various rites to be performed would go there to do their parts. He would be initiated and would be taught all he would need to function as the Ooni.”
Another source said Ogunwusi received some palace chiefs at his residence before he left for Ilofi but he said nobody was allowed to be part of their discussion.
The source stated that he was probably told what to expect when he eventually entered into the place in continuation of his journey which started on Wednesday.
