How to successfully opt out of Airtel 2GB for N200 plan

It downed to me yesterday that many people have being finding it difficult to cancel their Airtel 2GB for N200 plan.. Hence the birth of this post.

Opting out of the plan is as easy as following the instructions below.

Just Dial *482*4# and u will receive invalid request message.
Then reply with * then reply with 3. You will now receive "you have cancelled your 2g data subscription"

Airtel recently upgraded their smartTrybe plan which gives you unlimited data for N100 which last for 1H or N200 which last for 2H. This recent updates is exclusive to those who were formally in the SmartTrybe plan.

How do I migrate to Airtel SmartTrbe?

To migrate to Airtel SmartTrybe, simply dial the migration code *312# and reply with 1.
Also you will be able to choose any of the SmartTrybe plans listed above after migration by dialling *312# and replying with the corresponding number.

Those on Airtel SmartTrybe are allowed to make calls to all national networks at 11K/S (N6.60K/min) after the first 50 seconds of the day and also to call five international destinations of UK, US, China, India and Canada at 20K/S (N12/min) rate.
Also to be included is 1GB for N500 valid for 1 week, N200 for 250MB + 30min Airtel calls weekend offer and also free 15MB for the week after you recharge with up to N200 in any week.

New way to stop unsolicited spam messages from Airtel.

In response to NCC rule and code of conducts, Airtel a Nigerian network service provider have come up with a new way its subscribers can easily block or stop spamming messages from stupid boring numbers or SMS outlets.

Airtel has announced its ‘Do not Disturb’ short code, 2442, designed to allow subscribers manage all promotional messages sent to their lines.

Airtel customers can now opt-in or out of the ‘Do Not Disturb’ service at any time, thereby empowering subscribers to end unsolicited promotional SMS or promotional voice calls. To use the service customers can text ‘help’ to 2442.

Its Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Ahmad Mokhles, said the code was introduced in compliance with the directive of the Nigerian Communications

Commission (NCC), and in response to complaints of unsolicited SMS or promotional voice calls by some customers.

“Airtel is committed to offering excellent customer service and we are pleased to introduce the ‘Do Not Disturb’ self-service to empower our esteemed customers to decide what messages or calls they receive from the network.

“While there are customers that demand promotional services to keep abreast with various innovative products and services, there are others who do not want to be disturbed – that is why NCC has mandated telecoms companies in Nigeria to create this service, providing options for customers to either opt-in or out,” he said.

Yes, this is real, with just siple trick you'll get this freebie freom Airtel.. i tried it couple of house ago and it worked flawlessly.. why not give it a try and top up your data and and credit for less.

Get a new Airtel sim card or older one, insert it into an MTK Android Device.
