What kinds of toys can be dangerous for children?

Toys surround children from birth. Today children have lots and lots of them. But it is of great importance to know that some of the toys can be really dangerous. Sometimes it's a matter of quality, and sometimes it`s about the age restrictions. Today we will talk about some dangerous toys. And don't forget that on Jiji http://jiji.ng/toys, you will find all kinds of safe toys, and at best prices!

Toys with small details

Dangerous for the child may be small parts of some toys, unsteadily pasted small elements of soft toys, fragile rattles with loose fillers. Also, in this category we can mention the new-fangled homemade toys for developing fine motor skills, involving playing with buttons, beads, cereals. All of these items can be swallowed by children, and in the worst case - a child can shove them in the nose, the ear canal, or even breathe in.

Magnetic constructors

The most notable example of this category is "Neokub" consisting of magnetic metal balls. This toy is dangerous not only for the little ones, who put everything to their mouth. The fact of the matter is that magnetic attraction between elements of this toy is so strong that even adults sometimes use their teeth to separate one ball from another. Swallowing a few balls of this toy is dangerous, because inside the digestive tract they are attracted to each other, causing severe damage to internal organs. Child, not realizing the danger, can not even tell adults that he swallowed several balls, so it is better not to buy such a toy at all.

Music toys

In general, music toys are very beneficial for your kids and should be in every house. However, such toys must be of high quality, especially the quality of the sound. Many manufacturers produce toys that are too loud, exceeding the established standard of 85 Db. Such a loud sound has a very bad effect on hearing function, and constant use can cause deafness. The sound should not only be enjoyable, but it should be of high quality: this means no noise or wheezing. But even with such a toy your child should not be playing longer than an hour a day, as the constant sound load might harm the hearing function of your child, as well as the nervous system, therefore causing fatigue.

Weapon, darts

The most popular "boys`" toys are the guns with pellets or disks, darts, bow and arrows, swords and sabers with sharp ends. And of course they can cause injuries. Children might inadvertently shoot themselves straight to their face, causing eyes or ears damage. Kids can also injure themselves by swinging the sword. The danger of these toys is growing with each year as the manufacturers do not realize all the danger these kinds of toys can cause children.

Keep your kids away from the toys of such kind with the safest ones available on Jiji

Facebook has launched a new feature dubbed Videos in Comments. As the name suggests, the feature allows you to to upload a video into comments and replies on posts, something which the company says enables "more engaging and immersive conversations."

In a dedicated post, Facebook's Bob Baldwin revealed that the feature was developed at the company's 50th Hackathon early this year.
His words
"At the hackathon, we coded as quickly as we could all day, and by the evening we could feel the pieces starting to come together. A little past midnight, we had the feature mostly working on both desktop and mobile apps. And when we demoed our hack to fellow employees the following week, they absolutely loved it!" he said.

The feature is supported on desktop web, iOS, as well as Android, and is now available worldwide. It's worth mentioning that Facebook already allows you to include photos, stickers, and emoji in comments.

Good News: You can now send SMS with Facebook messanger

This service was on its beta stage about 12 weeks ago, On the 14th of this month, the former Manger of Twitter Mr Marcus announced on His page that this thing we all Dreamed about is now Reality...

In his words,

A lot of Android texting apps didn't keep up with the evolution of messaging, so we felt like we truly had to make Messenger the best SMS client for Android. As a result, in addition to having a fully integrated app for all your messaging,

you're now able to send voice clips, stickers, and even share your location over SMS on top of standard texting features. You will now also enjoy all the things you've come to love about Messenger for all your messages, including chat heads and more.

Just go to settings, select “SMS”and turn on “Default SMS App.” This will ensure all your SMS conversations appear in Messenger as purple threads, alongside your blue Facebook chats.

The new WhatsApp feature basically allows users to add context to a message, wherever it is needed. Facebook owned WhatsApp is trying to make its app simpler for users by adding the ability to refer to old messages.

The update is only available for beta testers for now, with a possibility it will reach users pretty soon. However, it is not clear if it will be released for iOS anytime soon.

WhatsApp recently added a host of new features to make its platform both convenient and fun. It is reportedly looking to add GIF support to its iOS app. The company added support to share documents, like PDFs, Doc files, etc even from third-party apps like Google Drive, OneDrive.

WhatsApp is also now fully encrypted end-to-end by default, which means that man-in-the-middle attacks are no longer possible on WhatsApp chats, and no third-party can read or listen in to the conversations.

WhatsApp is also working on a video-calling feature, which was earlier spotted in an Android beta build, but later taken off. We’ll have to wait and see when WhatsApp finally launches the video-calling feature.

To Update search for Whatsapp On Playstore and click update.

Another day, another Data Breach! Now, Russia's biggest social networking site VK.com is the latest in the line of historical data breaches targeting social networking websites.

The same hacker who previously sold data dumps from MySpace, Tumblr, LinkedIn, and Fling.com, is now selling more than 100 Million VK.com records for just 1 Bitcoin ( approx. US$580).

The database contains information like full names ( first names and last names), email addresses, plain-text passwords, location information, phone numbers and, in some cases, secondary email addresses.

Yes, plain-text passwords. According to Peace, the passwords were already in plain text when the VK.com was hacked. So, if the site still stores passwords in cleartext today, this could be a real security risk for its users.

The data breach has initially been reported byLeakedSource search engine, which received portions of the database from one of the people who bought it.

The company has already analyzed the contents of the data dump and has added it to its service. So, you can use its search engine to check if you were compromised.

Russia’s Facebook VK.com is said to be the largest social networking site in Europe with more than 350 Million users. So, the hack is believed to be the biggest hack the site has ever experienced.

The validity of the credentials exposed in the hack is thought to have been stolen in late-2012 or early 2013 when VK.com had just under 190 Million users.

All the LinkedIn, MySpace, and Tumblr data breaches are also believed to have taken place during the same duration, between 2012 and 2013, when many websites were not practicing appropriate Web security policies, like hashing and salting passwords.

The hacker, named Peace ( or Peace_of_mind), is selling the dataset -- which is over 17 gigabytes in size -- on The Real Deal dark web marketplace for a mere 1 Bitcoin.

According to LeakedSource, the most common password used by VK.com users was " 123456," followed by " qwerty" and " 123123," which are incredibly easy to predict. Also, the vast majority of email addresses came from mail.ru.

Like other data breaches, I strongly suggest you change your password immediately, especially if you use the same password for other websites.
